Shoes
My name is Christen, and I'm a shoe-a-holic it's been two days since I bought my last pair of shoes....
Can someone tell me why I like shoes so much??? I mean really everyday it's the same thing I pick out an outfit which takes me all of 15 minutes but then spend another 20 trying to decide which shoes to wear with it. Then at some point in the day I go to my trusty laptop and look at shoes for at least 40 minutes online. When I go to the mall where is the first place I go? Either the shoe department if I enter through a department store or a shoe store if I enter in the mall. What's wrong with me?
Because my space is limited in my apartment I said I'll only bring 25 pairs of shoes to school with me. Then I started thinking only 25! I know some guys that have like four pair of shoes total, and me I limited myself to 25 pair, and left a good 30 more pair at home. What's even sadder is that I've bought at least 4 pair since I've been here, and then bought 2 pair last weekend when I went home because I was in withdrawal from department store shoes from Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus (which you know they don't have in Syracuse).
Why did I come up with this random topic, well me being bored and all and doing everything I can to avoid reading for organizational pr decided to peruse the Neiman Marcus site and of course I click on "shoes and handbags" (handbags being the other obsession) and of course when I look the feature designer would be my man Manolo. So I click on the link and I fell in love several times. "You fell in love?!?" you ask? Well yes I did, shoes and I have that connection. So I'm thinking hmmm I just paid off all my credit cards, so I have more than enough to buy the shoes, hell I can buy a few pair. So I keep looking and keep looking and putting shoes in my shopping cart and I realize hey Christen you have a problem.
When a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti Crystal & Pearl Slides (yes I know the whole name, I told you I have a problem) can bring a smile to your face something is wrong, or when you have the flu and you swear you feel better once you walk in the shoe department at Lord & Taylor (or the fact that you are even in a department store with the flu) something is wrong, I think what is even worst is when a good friend pisses you off really really bad and his peace offering was a pair of shoes and you forgive him as soon as you put them on, now that's a problem.
One good thing is at least I'm not alone in this area. I have a few counterparts that are with me on the shoe thing, and we try not to even shop together because we always try to outdo each other in buying shoes (yes It's that bad y'all). But one good thing is I'm getting my masters in a field that pays well which means I'll always be able to afford shoes. Y'all pray for me, and pray that my husband is rich and can afford to support me and my habit. That's all for now, got a little more browsing to do.
