good hair

I did want to share this poem that I found because it's so interesting. I thought about it when I was discussing hair with a family member and she said something to the effect that me and my mother have a "good grade" of hair. Can someone PLEASE explain to me what that is?!? Isn't good hair healthy hair? Isn't good hair, hair that is growing? But honestly there is no such thing as good hair..Implied good would mean there is bad and no ones hair is a bad thing. But before I go off on my tangent and get into hair politics I thought I would share this poem written by my Soror Nichole because its real

He commented on my hang time/said it couldnt be mine/b/c of my buttery cocoa-colored skin/
I let him feel the roots & it threw him for a loop when he found that no tracks laid within/
He said there had to be a reason/it was either the season/or in me I had a bit of "indian"/
I told him that he sounded a bit wack b/c I was ALL black./besides "its genetic,so you sound awfully pathetic to correlate hair w/ skin/
he simply rolled his eyes and half apologized for his complete ignorance/ muttered something 'bout me being the creme de la creme/
All b/c I had hangtime that happened to be mine and the fact that I have buttery cocoa-colored skin


It's time to WAKE UP!!!
