Are you reliable?

I tend to think of myself as a very reliable person. When friends call on me I'm there, when people need something I try to provide it if I have the means. If you need to talk, I'm listening and the list goes on.

But as I grow older I keep seeing that only person you can truly rely on is yourself. People who you often times tend to put a lot of faith and trust in to are often the ones that let you down. There are people who I used to look to as friends but after many instances of disappointment they are just in the associates category. And often times you put hope in others even when you know they are going to disappoint.

Where did this random thought come from. Well me and my peeps are planning an event and in the beginning everyone was game, but of course as the time draws near the same reliable five people are the last ones standing. Being reliable is a trait that is important to have as a friend.
