fashion no-no's

I haven't done a fashion vent in a while (since October I think). After reading a friends blog and having a convo with him I decided its time to do my spring 04 fashion vent.

Chinese Slippers

Yes I know they are in a few fashion magazines and may be all the rave now but I had a pair of these in 10th grade and these really aren't made for the street. Last year if you went to Chinatown you could find these for $5, when I went to Miami can you believe I saw them for $25. Come on now yall...some little kid is making these shoes in a sweatshop somewhere for 50 cents a pair and you are dropping $25 on some sequined house shoes.

"Yeasty" Jeans
Women have some respect for your self please. There is nothing wrong with wearing form fitting jeans that accentuate your curves and so forth. But for goodness sakes please stop with the "yeasty" jeans. Why do I call them yeasty, well simply put as tight as some of the jeans are I see that's what the end result will be. There is no need for your pants to be so tight I can see a coochie imprint. That is just FOUL. Care enough about yourself and your hygiene (cause it's hot outside and tight jeans and heat CAN'T be a good mixture) to buy the next size up. Or better yet give up the painted on jeans period and step up your game go to GAP or Banana republic they have some decent jeans with a bit of stretch or even step it up to some 7 For All Mankind or Citizens For Humanity jeans. Just rid yourself of the "yeasty's"

Throwback Jerseys

Gentleman it's time to grow up. If you are a grown ass man step away from the throwbacks. It's time to change clothes and try something new. I'm not saying throw on an tailored Armani suit, but expand your repertoire. Don't be afraid to go in Nordstrom, J. Crew, Banana Republic, Kenneth Cole, or hell even GAP. The price you are paying for some "vintage" jersey you can invest in a nice shirt and some other things in these stores. Please don't think cause your jersey is damn near $200 that it's club gear either. Nothing irks me more to get approached by a grown ass man who is wearing another grown ass mans name on his shirt.

Fake labels

This one is going to be short and sweet. I know that everyone can not afford a designer label...but. Don't embarrass yourself or the people that are with you with "Eendi" "Goach" "Parda" "Kate Spades" "Cucci" and my favorite "Louie Vatton" lol. Just don't do it. There are a few options my favorite is to save. It makes the bag so much more worth while when you save for it. Get a lower priced designer bag if you crave labels D&B and Coach are reasonable enough to set as a goal. Or just realize that until its within your means there is no need to embarrass yourself with blatantly fake stuff.

Sneakers with heels
Steve Madden and all those other shoe designers that thought this was cute yall need to be on designer probation. There is nothing worst then seeing a shoe that looks like air force ones with a heel. Ehhh

Finally to end my rant I wanted to do my friendly reminder. Just because it's in your size does not mean it's made for your body
