how come
I haven't done a how come blog in a while so here goes...
For those not up on the how comes (hc) it's basically me askingthe question how come to random things that come in my head and sometimes me answering the question in the same format. We used to do this on a message board I belonged toway back and so it got addictive
hc I haven't been on blogger as much because work has me so tired
hc it's been a long time 'cause before you couldn't change font and colors
hc I really am praying for a new job because the one I have isn't cutting it
hc I've gotten to that content stage where I was before as far as relationships
hc things will happen when it happens
hc people are starting to ask about me getting married and having babies
hc I've been in school 4.5 years and got two degrees can a sistah chill a bit before marriage and carriage
hc I need to get back on track spiritually
hc GOD has never been part time when it comes to fulfilling my needs so I shouldn't be giving him part time attention
hc God speaks to me quietly and in little ways
hc he spoke to my heart when I was in ecumenical service at convention
hc when Hezekiah Walker sang "I need you to survive" to us in convention it made me weep
hc the lyrics are so simple but the message is so powerful
hc when that song was over me and my linesister were crying and embracing
hc the people that love each other the most were together getting that message but the ones who need it the most weren't there
hc that is how it always is
hc Las Vegas was an amazing experience for me
hc I cried at opening looking at the MGM Garden arena packed full of 14,000 of my sorors
hc I cried more when all the past presidents and leaders of my organization walked in
hc those women are some pacesetters and make me proud to be a Delta
hc they make me proud to be a black woman
hc people have so many negative things to say about a sorority but they never look at all the good that is done
hc people will hear about one hazing incident but won't hear about us registering thousands to vote or fighting AIDS or donating 1 million (yes I said 1 million) dollars to Howard University
hc we raised the money in a year and a half
hc only powerful black women about something can do that
hc I love my family so much
hc my niece turned 8 today
hc she's so beautiful
hc my nephew who is turning two next week shrieked with excitement when he saw me
hc that makes my heart melt
hc he calls me aunt bebe and I don't have a B in my name
hc he knows what my name is but still calls me bebe
hc my nephew who is turning 10 in a few weeks still hugs me and tells me he loves me even though it may not be the coolest thing
hc he always holds a special spot with me because he made me aunt chrissy
hc even though I was 13 when he was born I would hold him for hours and rock him to sleep
hc I would be sad when he went home
hc I hope when I have kids they will be just as wonderful as their cousins
hc I think I think its time to go to sleep
hc I'm sleepy at 12:30 and I used to stay up til 4 just three months ago
hc I'm getting old
hc but I'm still beautiful and graceful
goodnight
