Cupcakes and Friends

I was talking to a friend of mine on the phone last night and I was having what my granny likes to call a "pity party." You know one of those days where you think too much and remember too many things and then you get all sad and have a sour attitude. I was telling her about how I want a new job (that actually pays me what I'm worth), how I miss living on my own in my own apartment, and all this other crap that was on my mind. Being the good friend that she is she listened and comforted like I always do for her. I appreciated her listening and was glad that I had gotten some things off my chest. Today she called me and asked what I was doing for lunch I told her I had no plans so we decided to go to Clydes in Columbia for lunch. After eating at Clydes we went to the mall for a little bit and I stopped by her apartment to hangout for a little bit since she lives across from the mall. When I went in her apartment she said she had a surprise for me and handed me a pink box. She had cupcakes for me from the Baltimore Cupcake Company. I love that place it is such a girly and fun place to go she got me an assortment that had crystalized flowers and swarovski crystals on them. That really made my day.

She reminded me of how when she was going through some issues with her boyfriend we decided to go to Magnolia Bakery in Manhattan (where the girls on SATC went) and we sat and had cupcakes and talked and things were fine and when she was sad about her breakup what did we do.... went to the Cupcake Cafe where we got a box of cupcakes went to the park talked and she cried and things were fine. So she wanted to bring me some cupcakes so we could talk and I'd be fine.

So this afternoon we talked and ate cupcakes and I feel fine.

Now that is a friend.
