music

So I stole this idea from Jazz the Fab Funky Diva The following is music that I have in heavy rotation in my house and my car. These choices are multifunctional and multifaceted. You can listen to them when you are sitting in the house with your cup of tea/glass of relaxing, when you are "entertaining" visitors, or on Saturday cleaning up the crib. According to Beethoven "Music is the mediator between the spiritual and the sensual life" so these are some of my favorite mediators...

So I'm on my third copy of this CD. I can't get enough of it. I got it for my birthday in 1996 and have been playing it every since. This is one of the few CD's where I listen from start to finish ( I even listen through that looong 6 minute pause)

I've had this CD for a minute and "rediscovered" it. They are in love and you can tell through their music. They talk about love and relationships not some "I wanna call you at 3 am and hump you til you can't walk" This is an excellent CD.

It is just something about this CD. The fusion of two generations makes it an amaazing CD.

I was in Philly visiting a friend we went to Black Lily and these ladies were performing. I've been listening ever since.

I was dating this guy. He was trying to impress me because I said he didn't listen to real music. He bought me this CD and I fell in love, not with him, but with the music. This CD has been a perfect fit for so many different occasions.

I believe Chevonne put me on to Maroon 5 in Syracuse while we were in grad school. I went to order the CD from Amazon and accidentally picked up their acoustic CD instead. Nonetheless I love it and it stays in my car.

I got this in 95, my freshman year of high school when it first came out because of "Tell Me" This was like the first CD I ever bought (was moving on up from tapes) and I still love this CD. It is one of the most overlooked yet enjoyable albums of the mid 90's and was way ahead of the times

When I first heard his single "Love Calls" I fell in love with his voice. He has such a smooth and mellow sound it reminds me of a rainy day. And he sounds just like Al Jarreau.

Way back in the day in like 96 I joined Columbia House and you could choose your 10 "free" CD's and so I was taking French and what not in HS so I was like lets check them out. I bought the CD and loved it. Some songs I know what they are talking about because of my minute French skills and others I sing along too because they are just so beautiful. this is a fabulous CD.

When I was younger I wanted to be an opera singer (bet you didn't know that). My daddy arranged for me to take foundation based, classical and theatrical voice lessons. A lot of the "divas" on this CD were my inspiration while taking my lessons and still are. This is the CD everyone is shocked to hear me playing.

Music creates order out of chaos: for rhythm imposes unanimity upon the divergent, melody imposes continuity upon the disjointed, and harmony imposes compatibility upon the incongruous. - Yehudi Menuhin
