breath, release and rant
I'm so drained. Physically and emotionally. For some reason today was like the longest day ever to me. It seems like everyone in the world wanted to come at me with their issues and problems and complaints and at this point I really don't care. So I need a quick minute to breath, release and rant...
People stop coming to me asking me what you should they do in relationships especially husband and wife situations. I know that I am a great listener and will give my friends my honest opinion but ummm have you noticed I'm single with no 1.5 carat asscher cut diamond ring on my left hand from Daniel K. (lol hey a girl knows what she wants). What do I look like telling them how to perfect a marriage when I'm not married and won't be anytime soon. Why don't they ask me about something I am an expert at like how to write a speech or do media training or create a communications strategy... don't ask me how to keep a man and maintain a relationship when I don't have one and am not in one.
Another thing is I can not stand a person that is a liar. I really can't deal with it. When I feel like I'm being lied to or am being told "half truths" then I shut down and I turn into robo-butterflyy. No emotions, no words, and no explanations, nothing from me. Because I feel what I will say is a waste of breath. People are always like tell me how you feel don't hold back. I'll start saying how I feel about things when I am told the complete truth. Period.
Someone was a bit salty about my 107 Things about Christen entry because I said I hadn't been on a formal date in a minute (#66). Well you know what suck that s&*t up lol. I've had outings lately but not a formal date. When I say a formal date I'm talking about something that involves planning i.e. a reservation, preparing an outfit, etc. Formal date means me having some butterflies in my stomach due to suspense. Formal date means I can put on my cute designer shoes and not worry about scuffing the heel while driving because I'll be picked up at my door. A formal date is us going to the restaurant and giving our names saying we have a reservation for two and they say your table is waiting, not getting our names put on a clipboard and given a pager that will light up and buzz and sing a show tune when the table is ready lol. Do you get my point? I'm not so "bougie" that I don't appreciate a regular outing because I do. But you have to understand when I was 16 a guy making $5.75 and hour was taking me to Friday's so I'm not going be open off of going there now. I do appreciate the meal and the time shared just don't expect the same level of excitement that occur from an evening at DC Coast or Ceiba. Thats all.
Ok my last rant. Since I've been complaining about others I have to complain about myself for a second. Nothing better whips a person into shape then public humiliation lol. So I have to scream at myself for a few things in my life. For starters I need to respect MY temple a lot more and I have to yell at myself for accepting mediocrity when it comes to certain people and their actions. I also have to tell myself like I tell so many of my friends "you know what you want out of certain situations in life whether personal or professionally. If you aren't getting what you want then ask for it. If you don't get it, leave. Period. No time to accommodate others and give in to quick fixes that consistantly get you the short end of the stick. Demand what you want you want how you want it and on your terms and man up."
*done releasing and am now stepping off the soapbox*
