just observing....
okay since everyone thought I was soooo mean in post (I Apologize) just wait until you read this one (only kidding) but this is just some observations I have made in the past couple of days while out and about in dc, md, and philly.
pink.
Okay I lovvve a well dressed guy especially one that is fashion savvy and in tune with looking well. But some things really have to stop. I think we just might be in pink overload. I'll admit it I love pink. I have a lot of pink stuff inspite of my affinity for crimson but guess what I'm a girl. As much as I love fashion, fellas pink should really just be an accent piece. There is no reason that when I was out of town I should have saw a group of guys with a pink tees on (to the knees), pink von dutch hats (which were clearly made for a girls) and a bright ass jacket that was umm pink. Who were they the pink powder puff gang. I mean really who the hell are you going to scare on the corner with pink on. On the other end of the spectrum lies my fashion concious guys that are giving me the extreme with a pink shirt, pink argyle pullover sweater, and pink ties. Farnsworth Bentley you are not please stop the insanity. Pick accent items thing like a tie and kerchief or a pink dress shirt (both work well with a charcoal suit). But don't come out the house looking like the pink power rangerand expect girls to take you seriously.
wine.
I love a good wine. I was in a wine club in grad school with some of my classmates and have been on tours on tons of vineyards. Even now I can spend hours in the wine store and at tastings. But people there are some simple things that even if you haven't studied it or drank it that you should know. This particularly is for the young ladywho appeared to be on a date in Bowie Town Center at the Olive Garden. It is pronounced Mare-LOW you can even get away with Mer-low both with emphasis on the second syllable, but Murh-loT with a strong t at the end, isn't the way to go, if all else fails hold up the wine list and point to what you want lol. Also when you receive your wine, please I beg of you as much as you may have issues with drinking glasses in public please dont ask for a straw and drink with it. I think everyone in the back part of the restaurant kind of gasped when they saw you take the cup off the table and hold it to the side so that you could comfortably drink your wine with a straw. Maybe you were trying to be seductive and what not but it didn't really work.
movies.
If you are going to sneak food into the movies please sneak reasonable stuff in. I went to go see Ray (which was a great movie) and my mom and I are chilling in the theater munching on our popcorn and I'm like I must be starving because I'm smelling chicken lol. I wasn't going crazy it was just the lady behind me. She has a carryout platter of chicken wings and mumbo sauce. So at this point the movie theater is smelling like Yum Yoo's Carryout. Next thing I see this black guy walk in with a huuuuuge bubble jacket on. I'm like I know it's cold but not that cold. So he sits next to chicken lady and pulls out two 20 oz. Rock Creek sodas and some fries and they start chowing down. Mind you we are just in the previews and the film hasn't even started yet. So movie police with his magic flashlight comes and is like sir maam you can't eat outside food in the theater. So why oh why are they like "how you know we didn't get this from here?" lol and they were dead ass serious. Umm can someone please tell me what movie theater serves chicken wings w/mumbo sauce, french fries and Rock Creek Soda lol.
kneeboots.
It's getting cold outside and so it's time to pull out the jackets and sweaters and winter shoes. For some of us ladies that includes kneeboots. Let me say that they are not made for everyone. In the past few days I've seen some travesties involving these winter time delights. For one if you have a huge calf then keep searching until you find the right boot. As much as I love certain designers some of their boots don't fit my calves right so I'm not dropping $100+ on a shoe that makes my calf look like a sausage ooozing out of the casing. I was in Benjamin Lovell in Philly trying on shoes and this woman came in that was the worst knee boot violator I had ever seen. There was like a fat pocket hanging over the top of her shoe that made my stomach bubble. She took off her boot and I swear I heard her calf and the shoe sigh and say ahhhhh. Her leg was red with a deep indentation and I swear her calf looked like two sausage links right at the point of where the boot met the top. There is no need to torture yourself or the people that have to see such a thing. So if you are going to wear them find one that fits. please
