Post Election Rant/Commentary
The election is over and G.W. Bush is president yet again. Now over the past few months I have encouraged people to get out there and register and vote and be INFORMED voters and know who you are voting for and why you are voting for them and if you did so you did your part. Everyone has strong beliefs about particular candidates and some people are rejoicing today and others are upset and distraught.
I bet last night there were more people out there praying then have ever prayed before. Praying for the demise of one person and the uplifting of another. Somewhat of a selfish prayer in my opinion. While you were praying for one thing another person who's beliefs were just as strong was praying for another. My cousin and I kind of kept it simple and just said Lord let your will be done. We had a strong liking for one person but if that person didn't win then we knew we'd have to suck it up and continue with life anyway.
I was joking with people before that if one of the candidates won that I was moving to Canada. Now as much as I love Canada yall know I'm going still be here (Canada is too close to Syracuse and yall know how I feel about that place). My mother and I were having the conversation this morning that it's basically to late to cry now because Kerry didn't win. He tried, it was close, but now we honestly have to move forward. You may not always agree with the person that is in "leadership" of this country but as long as you are here you have to deal with it or work hard and try to correct things.
Now I have to touch on one thing the ignorant voters. Last night it was like 8:30 and this guy I know (well he's my mentees slow ass boyfriend) IMed me on some guess our vote didn't count this is racist bullshyt. Okay one slow down partner. It was 8:30 nothing was even popping then and he's like look at the score. I'm thinking the score is this a basketball game. As most of yall know my tolerance and patience is real low when it comes to ignorance that could be corrected if you took time to research and understand a situation. So I'm talking to him and I'm like do you understand the concept of voting and he gives some half ass answer and then I'm like do you understand this isn't like a primetime special and results probably wont be in until tomorrow and he was talking bullshyt yet again. So then I was like okay so you voted for president did you at least know what was up for the other candidates on your ballot. He was like nah I left them blank or hit democrat. I swear if I wasn't so tired I would have walked to Baltimore and shook the shyt out of him. They had a heavy ass ballot this election and he was in there straight playing games. So I sent him some links and was like read this cause I swear you are dumb (yep I said it just like that). So he responds back like thats to heavy to be reading. My thought was you don't need to be voting then if some plain ass 5th grade level text was too heavy. Yes I said you don't need to be voting but he's just dumb for real.
If I hear another person say "I will never vote again" I am going to scream. People will continue to do dumb shit over and over again but because the person they wanted to win lost now you are not going to vote again. If a girl a guy wants is like I don't want you thats a lost. But guess what dude will keep trying again maybe not with that girl but he's not quitting. The Redskins, them negroes lose all the damn time but tickets still sell and you don't see people like I'm never going to watch them play again because they keep losing. Women have gone to some MAC counter somewhere and have been made up and you left ooking like a corpse or a circus clown but that didn't stop you from going to another MAC counter and letting someone get you to spend money on some studio fix and lipglass. So don't be a dumbass and not vote cause Kerry lost. Suck it up forreal.
I love my mom to death. At work people swear shes like super church lady so I'm sure this morning she shocked the hell out of them. I went to her office and this man walking down the hall was screaming "I bet all yall Kerry peoples feelings are hurt today yall feeling real stupid" and this negro is cackling and being loud as hell. Mind you my mom works at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency so this dude shouldn't have been walking down the hall acting like asshole number one. So its 7:15 am and there is a crowd in the hall of people looking at screaming negro and my mom was like Curtis do you mind holding it down a little and he's like my bad Ms. M I just know all these people feel stupid as hell. So she's like I'm sure you are happy your candidate won but this isn't appropiate and he's like "my candidate, shiiit I didn't vote at all." So my mom the one who every one thinks is super church lady in her nicest and calm voice was like "oh really, then what you ought to do is shut the fuck up ignorance isn't needed." I think I really flatlined in the hallway.
But she was telling the truth...
So now yall have four years to get yourselves together and know your stuff. Don't do it because Puffy or some other celeb said so. Do it because you want to know whats up. Also get off your lazy asses and get involved in some stuff thats the only way to truly know whats going on. And be informed, read a book, a newspaper, look online something. You can't cry about a process if you know nothing about it and are not up on your cause.
