jealousy ----> trust

Jealousy is a crazy thing.

It makes you think, act, behave, speak and live in a very irrational way.

Jealousy will allow you to come up with all sorts of situations in your mind and have you concocting wild and vivid tales off of simple things like people saying hello.

It even makes you get pissed off over stuff and people that don't even concern you or belong to you.

Jealousy is something that as a person you need to control before it controls you.

I know yall are like where did this come from. I was talking to an acquaintance earlier and she was saying how she is jealous of her boyfriends relationship with one of his sorors, who happens to be a friend of his family. So here I go giving her all this sound advice on how trust has to be the basis for any relationship blah blah blah and how jealousy can destroy you.

Then I thought to myself I really need to shut up.

How am I dispensing advice on something I struggle with and am learning to overcome. I'm not a jealous person (although sometimes "my eyes are green... cause I eat a lot of vegetables") but I do have some issues trusting people and when you don't trust people that can lead to the concocting of stories being irrational and being pissed in the same way a jealous person would. My issues with trust don't stem from an absentee father or not getting enough love or attention as a child. But simply from a relationship gone awry. People break up all the time but whenever I tell the story that goes along with this particular break up almost everyone's response is wow "I'm surprised you don't hate men."

Nope I don't hate them, still love them, still have hope in them and still know that there is someone predestined for me... at the moment I just have a really really really really hard time trusting them. I know I know that's awful thinking but I can admit it's true. I used to be in the thought process of I trust you until you mess up. Now it's more like okay you need to earn it cause you are starting at zero. Seriously when I meet people now, whatever they tell me I straight research it to make sure it's true. You say you are single okay I'll take your word but to be sure let me look through this database... oh so it says you are married to a Mariah with two kids Sydney and Marie, am I correct, and a dog named Teddy, thanks but no thanks.

I know I shouldn't have to do that and honestly I don't really want to but it's a struggle yall. When people do things that put you and your well being in danger it really makes you second guess a lot of things. It also creates a barrier that could make you miss out on a lot of opportunities because you close yourself up to allowing people to completely enter. Because of that people think it's a reflection of your feelings towards them when in fact it may just be your thought process. But sometimes your feelings and intuition really are right and the barrier and the research saved you from a new episode of heartbreak hotel. So what do you do?

Realization is half the battle. I haven't opened up all the doors that allow me to trust people like I used to but most of the windows are open. I am slowly getting there. Life is full of risks and moments in which we have to step out on faith and be willing to take on something new and put our trust in people...

Even if it's just for a learning experience.
