why men love bitches....
that is the name of this "self help" book that costs $14.95 to "delivers a unique perspective as to why men are attracted to a strong woman who stands up for herself.... and reveals why a strong woman is much more desirable than a “yes woman” who routinely sacrifices herself." Someone purchased this book for me when it first came out because they claimed I have a lot of the "bitch" tendencies in this book lol. I read it and took the information with a grain of salt.
In my office today I heard these three personal assistants talking about the book and how it was life changing, just like He's Just Not That In To You. So I've read WMLB and life changing isn't a word I'd use to describe it. I mean maybe it's because my mom and I were pretty open in discussing relationships and not being a doormat but I don't think I need to pay $14.95 to have an author tell me that as a woman I should be "kind yet strong. She doesn't give up her life, and she won't chase a man" okay that was life changing lol. I really don't need her to tell me "If you give him a feeling of power, he'll want to protect you and he'll want to give you the world" and "A little distance combined with the appearance of self-control makes him nervous that he may be losing you."
One of the problems I think I have with this book and many books similar to this one is that it is giving a lot of women false hope. They think that they can read a book like this apply the principles for a few weeks and "snag" Mr. Dreamboat and then they are going to live happily ever after in lala land.
Alot of this stuff is wuite contradictory and just doesn't work with a lot of people. For example she says don't cater to a man foodwise serve him whatever, beans and franks etc and he'll just have to deal with it, yeah sure okay. Now a guy may not get a three course meal from me all the time but making him a hot dog on a first date or some other nonsense, so that will ensure that he takes you out from then on is garbage. The author says men eat anything so they wont care whether it's a hot dog or a steak, ok sure. I've yet to meet a man who did not have some sort of food preference and a desire for a meal prepared from the heart and not out of spite. I know guys that have fell for women off the sole fact that they did something as simple as made a dinner or went out of their way to prepare a man's favorite food.
Unfortunately there are people (like the girls in my office) that take this advice word for word and are swearing and living by it. Honestly if you took a majority of the advice in this book and applied it to a relationship you may end up with no relationship at all. As much as they piss me off anget on my nerves men are human too and they are as unique as women. There are some guys that want a woman to express her feelings and tell him that she loves him then there are the ones who are deathly affraid of love and will refuse to say they love you even under extreme circumstances. So how can one book be the solution to a woman's problems?
I guess this rant came from these girls in my office like really trying to live this book word for word when that is impossible. Sure you can takle some tactics and techniques and try to apply them to your life but don't create yourself into something you aren't. I'll admit the book had some good stuff like why you should help a man pack his bags if he says he wants to leave that right there is the truth lol. She also gives sensible and good advice on why you should avoid communication with a man when you are extremely emotional and why your sexual desirability has everything to do with your independent attitude that's the truth.
I say don't be a bitch because a book told you to. If you are going be a true one then it's got to be because that's who you really are.
