the registry
One thing I really HATE with a passion is when people try to get over on other people. A close associate of mine got pregnant and then pulled a shotgun ceremony right after we graduated. We should have started peeping the scheme when no one got invited to the wedding but everyone got an email with their registries. Then it get's close to baby time so one set of friends throws a shower and her and husband create this ridiculous registry where some items cost more then what they make a month and no one would want to buy because it would get stolen in the neighborhood they live in. So they have shower one where they ask for $500 dollar rocking chairs and no diapers and then weeks before the baby is due they are scrambling trying to buy neccesities for their child i.e diapers, onesies, wipes, etc. So baby is born and a month after he is born we get yet another email talking about it's the babies coming out party and you guessed it another registry link. This time we've peeped the registry abuse, this registry has all the stuff on it they should have asked for the first time and some extra's. Not only did we not go but we didn't buy a gift.
Fastforward to two weeks ago we get another email saying they are having a birthday party for the baby's first bday. Then at the end they also throw in "we also finally moved in to our own place.... here is a link to Baby's registry" So even though the invitation says baby's birthday party and has his pics sprawled on it they used their baby to yet again try to illicit gifts. So I just knew when I clicked on the link there would be things for the baby on there since the whole guise of the party is "his birthday" but was I wrong... Here are some things that were on there can you tell me what one year old needs these things
Aero.Bed Premier Classic Inflatable Queen Bed $189.99
Splendid Pressure Cooker Multi Set $79.99
5-Speed Ultra Power® Blender 99.99
Vaccuum Sealer 129.99
Michelangelo 2-Tier Serving Tray 29.99
Silent Air Purifier 349.99
6 lead Crystal Champagne goblets @ 14.99
5 Gift Cards @ $200.00
5 Gift Cards @ $100.00
5 Gift Cards @ $50.00
10 Gift Cards @ $10.00
5 Gift Cards @ $25.00
And this was only a portion of the list. So if yall can tell me what exactly a one year old can do with the things listed above it would be greatly appreciated. Did I also mention that when you visit the registry the type says Wedding and it has the baby's birthday listed as the date of the marriage. You have got to be kidding me lol.
People if you've every created a registry I know it can be fun especially when they give you that little scanner and set you free in the store. But don't abuse it. If you know you live in a one bedroom apartment in the projects with bulletproof windows, furniture and other home furnishings don't ask for things that the people coming to the event are going to be scared to walk down the street with for a fear of being robbed. And don't stunt, don't ask for champagne flutes if your choice beverage is red fruit drink. And lastly stop asking for shyt just because it's tuesday or because you feel like it. Don't abuse the registry... try doing what everyone else does and buy your own shyt. After a while people are going to avoid you like the plague especially since your emails start out like "I know I haven't talked to you in the past five months...."
